Today was our last and saddest day on the trip. I still felt it to be an educational experience. We started out visting Mt. Vernon. It was really neat to finally see Mr. Washington's home up close rather than in photographs. There were alot of interesting things to see. You could go to see were he was burried, were he slept, and his guest bedrooms, and how his house started out. After Mt. Vernon we took the metrotrail the Smithsonian museums. Which basically showed how america came to be from beging to now. I really enjoyed the September 11 exhibit. It was very moving.--Morgan Bailey
I must say that this has been probably the best trip that I have been on. This group of students were amazing, They were real troopers, They went 16 hours on Monday without eating a meal and did not complain, Our guide, Martha, told the kids many times that they were the best Norton bunch she has ever had, Ruben, our motor coach operator also said that this was his best group of the year, I really feel that this group took the time to really absorb all the beauty and history of Washington D.C.. I hope that they keep these memories down the road and are able to appreciate them for the rest of their lives. Parents, you can be very proud of your children. They represented you, our school, and our community in the best possible way. I was very proud to have been their teacher on this trip. I also want to thank the adults that went. Charla, Lori, Kurt, Mel and Lucas made the trip very easy and enjoyable for all of us. We are tired, but I would take this group back tomorrow.--George Rossi
Today, in my opinion, was the best out of the four days we spent in Washington DC. First we went to Mount Vernon, former president Washington's home. I was surprised at how large the estate was. After that we rode on the subway to the Smithsonian Museums. We went to three of the museums including the Museum of American History, the Museum of Natural History, and the Air and Space Museum. My favorite of these would have to be the Museum of Natural History. It housed many items such as the Hope Diamond, many rocks and minerals, and a large collection of meteorites. I was especially inspired by the large collection of quartz of all shapes, colors, and sizes. I had a lot of fun on this trip and would go again if given the chance.--Nathan Pollock
After all we did in Washington D.C. today was the most interesting day. Today we got to see all the Smithsonians and the was very interesting even though we did not get to spend a lot of time there. My favotrite was the Air and Space Museum that was very interesting get to see all the old planes. The Hope Diamond was also very neat to see. I had alot of fun and the sponsors were great.--Brett Wyatt
